The fallout from Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce has been pretty messy, and a source close to the country singer is suggesting that the actress may be to blame for it all.
In a May 14 report from In Touch, an insider said Urban’s done nothing wrong, claiming he’s “kept his side of the street clean and then some.” They continued, “He doesn’t trash talk Nicole or accuse her of poisoning the kids against him, even though … the cold reality is that they’re not currently a part of his life.”
When Kidman filed for divorce in September 2025, she also requested to be the primary residential parent of their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Court documents obtained by People revealed that the Oscar-winning actress will spend 306 days a year with the girls, while Urban has just 59 days with them.
The source told In Touch that Urban “signed the paperwork because it felt like the right thing to do,” even though he faced intense backlash for seemingly giving up so easily. “He surrendered without any type of fight,” they added. “But never in a million years did he envisage any scenario this brutal.”
“It hurts all the more to see the girls parading around with Nicole and clearly loving life more than they ever did when he was on the scene,” the insider continued, noting that Urban’s friends believe this is a “calculated move” on the Babygirl star’s part.
“She’s like the cat that ate the canary right now, rubbing her happy single parent life in his face, and to pretty much everyone in Keith’s world, that’s just cruel and totally out of line,” the insider concluded.
This latest drama comes after Urban reportedly hit a rough patch with his and Kidman’s eldest daughter, Sunday Rose. In April 2026, she briefly unfollowed Urban on Instagram, and sources told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter that the four-time Grammy winner was “hurt” by the move.
“Sunday knew exactly what she was doing,” one source alleged to Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “It was a pointed move, and Keith got the message loud and clear.”
