Fergie Reportedly ‘Begging for Royal Pension’ as Beatrice & Eugenie ‘Beg’ Her to Stop Spending on Her ‘Maxed Out’ Credit Cards
Amid claims that Sarah Ferguson is “spending money like there’s no tomorrow,” there are rumors circulating that she’s begging the royal family to financially support her.
In a May 2026 interview with The Mirror, royal author Andrew Lownie alleged that Fergie may be in negotiations over whether she still has a place in the royal circle or ends up left out entirely.
“The daughters are clearly footballs in this thing,” Lownie said of Princess Eugenie and Beatrice. “The fact that [Fergie and former Prince Andrew] are still swanning around the Middle East, using their titles…it doesn’t send out the right signals if you want to work your passage back. It’s confusing.”
He alleged, “That may be what Fergie’s negotiating at the moment. Can she get a nice pension from them and not have to do an Oprah interview.”
This comes after Fergie blamed the royal family for leaking her whereabouts in April 2026. The former Duchess of York has been hiding out at a luxury ski chalet in Austria, which reportedly costs around $2,700 per night.
Sources claim Fergie’s been coping by drowning her sorrows in retail therapy, which could push her even further into debt.
“The last thing she should be doing right now is pouring money down the drain, but she still feels entitled to the high life. Her excuse is that she’s in a crisis and she needs this pampering. That’s for her mental health,” an insider told RadarOnline in May 2026. “That means bottle after bottle of expensive champagne for her and whoever she can rope in to join her. And when she’s not knocking back drinks, she’s at the spa getting massages, body wraps and facials. She’s spending money like there’s no tomorrow.”
Due to her high level of spending, Fergie’s credit cards have really taken a hit. Heat World previously reported that Eugenie and Beatrice are allegedly concerned they may have to help pay off their mother’s debts.
“Andrew isn’t going to hand over a dime to cover her bills so it’s all going on her credit cards which are already maxed out,” the source explained. “It’s so frustrating for her girls because they could be the ones that have to bail her out.”
Eugenie and Beatrice have been “begging” Fergie to “face the facts and adjust her life accordingly,” but she won’t listen to them. “She’s in total denial mode,” the insider claimed. “More than anything else, Sarah sees no reason why she should have to rein it in.”
