Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is reportedly fast approaching, with the power couple beginning to quietly share details of their top-secret celebration with their guests. Earlier reports claim Swift ditched physical invitations in favor of personally calling guests to invite them to the ceremony.
However, some invitees are annoyed with one of the couple’s alleged requests. According to a May 22 report from the Daily Mail, Swift and Kelce have decided that some of their guests will not be allowed to bring a date.
“My invite did not let me bring a plus one,” one anonymous guest told the outlet. “I mean, what am I supposed to do? Go alone? That is so awkward. I don’t think I am going to attend because I don’t want to go by myself and I am not sure I will know too many people there. I mean, sorry, I am not friends with Gigi and Bella Hadid!”
The source noted that some attendees are able to bring a guest, which she said doesn’t seem fair at all.
“I know Selena Gomez is bringing her husband, Benny Blanco, so she has a plus one, but I am not allowed to have a plus one because I am a single woman,” she added. “I get it, the venue can probably allow for only so many people, but it’s not the best feeling.”
Because of this, the insider revealed that although it’s being called “the wedding of the year,” she may end up skipping it because she’s too “shy” to go alone.
Still, the guest doesn’t want to come off as a “major complainer” because she completely understands the situation. She even mentioned that she “loves” Swift and wishes her “the best” in her marriage to the NFL player.
Weddings are already stressful, and reportedly even more complicated for Swift—especially after the Daily Mail claimed she’s withholding certain details about the “really, really big” event from her future father-in-law, Ed Kelce, because he “can’t be trusted” to keep a secret.
“He’s sort of like a loose cannon,” one source explained. “Nobody knows what he’s going to say, so it’s kind of a controversial situation.”
Swift and Kelce are set to tie the knot on Friday, July 3, in New York City, surrounded by loved ones and close friends—including many of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates and Swift’s famous friends such as Gomez, the Hadid sisters, Zoë Kravitz, and others.
