Hugh Jackman Reportedly ‘Blames’ Ex-Wife For Hollywood ‘Turning Against Him’ After Claim Nicole Kidman Avoided Him at Met Gala
Hugh Jackman is none too happy about the alleged isolation he’s facing in Hollywood right now, and he’s reportedly placing the blame on his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
“Hugh’s becoming increasingly angry over the feeling that more and more people in Hollywood are quietly turning against him,” a source told Globe in May 2026. “He blames Deb for it 100% and says there’s been a steady drip of poison behind the scenes from her and her camp.”
The actor’s also convinced that friends like Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe, and Nicole Kidman are “ditching him for Deb.”
This comes after the 2026 Met Gala, where Kidman reportedly avoided Jackman and his new girlfriend, actress Sutton Foster. According to industry insider Rob Shuter, the Oscar-winning actress—who was a co-chair for the night—is “firmly Team Deb” and believes Deb was “deeply hurt” over how her decades-long marriage with Jackman ended.
“Nicole isn’t interested in pretending otherwise just because Hugh showed up with a new woman on his arm,” a source told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “Deb’s ‘betrayal’ comment was not forgotten in Hollywood. A lot of people close to her feel Hugh did her wrong, and Nicole is one of the friends who has stayed incredibly protective.”
Since then, the Deadpool & Wolverine star has reportedly demanded that his ex-wife “stop stirring the pot,” especially as the situation is also said to be affecting Foster’s reputation.
“He’s very protective of Sutton and says it’s incredibly unfair that she’s being frozen out and judged by people who used to happily socialize with her,” an insider explained to Globe. “He says things have spiraled way beyond a normal breakup now and turned into a coordinated effort to isolate them socially. He’s furious and says he’s no longer prepared to just sit back quietly and take it.”
Deb and Jackman announced their separation in September 2023 and finalized their divorce in June 2025. “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” they said in a statement at the time, per People.
According to a May 18 report from Woman’s Day, Kidman has been there for Deb since her split from Jackman—and she’s also hoping to get Deb back in the dating scene.
“They’re leaning on each other and with Nicole already booting up her dating life, it’s hard for Deb to not feel encouraged,” a source told the outlet. “She’s still nervous about taking that leap, but Nicole’s one of the key friends in her life helping her take that step.”
And despite steering clear of the Logan actor at the Met Gala, Kidman hopes they can be friends again one day: “She is hoping that things between Deb and Hugh will settle down over time and she doesn’t have to exclude him from her world for too long.”
