Pete Davidson Reportedly ‘Caught Off Guard’ by His Baby’s Mother Claiming She’s a Single Parent After Their Split—He ‘Shoulders All Costs’
Pete Davidson and his model girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, have officially called it quits. Their split comes just five months after welcoming their daughter, Scottie Rose.
Since going their separate ways, Hewitt has claimed she’s raising Scottie Rose on her own without any help from Davidson. This comment was made in a TikTok posted on May 16, where she addressed photos TMZ published of her out in New York City with her and Pete’s daughter.
Hewitt said she wasn’t worried about her appearance, explaining, “I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it on my own, which is hard.”
A fan allegedly commented, “I hope you don’t mean you’re doing the financial part alone… that would be insane given the circumstances,” and in a now-deleted comment, Hewitt replied, “I am,” per People.
On Monday, May 18, a source close to the Saturday Night Live alum told Us Weekly that he’s “fully financially supporting the child and Elsie.” They added that Pete’s “very present” in Scottie Rose’s life and “wants nothing but the best for Elsie.”
“He shoulders all of the financial costs, including the costs for Elsie, her rent and her health insurance,” the insider revealed. “Elsie’s posts caught everyone around them off guard because they are simply not true.”
Despite this, Hewitt has turned to Instagram to ask for help. “I’m currently trying to find an assistant / mother’s helper / nanny type / basically right hand person,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Apply here if qualified and serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ of course).”
Davidson and Hewitt were first linked in March 2025, and by July, they announced they were expecting their first child together. Their daughter was born on Dec. 12, 2025.
In May 2026, sources told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack that having a baby turned out to be a real challenge for Davidson and Hewitt. “They confused intense chemistry with long-term compatibility,” one source noted. “They thought having a baby would be exciting and bring them closer together. The reality was the complete opposite.”
