In mid-May 2026, Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt broke up after just over a year together. On May 15, a source told People that the split seemed amicable, but things have since turned very messy.
The former couple is reportedly not getting along at the moment, especially after Hewitt accused Davidson of being a deadbeat dad to their daughter, Scottie Rose. In a TikTok posted on Saturday, May 16, Hewitt claimed the Saturday Night Live alum wasn’t helping her with co-parenting duties.
“I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it on my own, which is hard,” Hewitt said in the video. A fan commented, “I hope you don’t mean you’re doing the financial part alone… that would be insane given the circumstances,” to which Hewitt replied in a now-deleted comment, “I am :).”

The model also allegedly liked a comment from another TikTok user that said, “Sorry but not staying with your partner when they are [post partum] is insanely loser behavior. This is THE most vulnerable time in a woman’s life.” Hewitt’s response? “Amen sis.”
A source close to Hewitt told RadarOnline that she “feels shattered by how quickly everything changed. One minute, they were talking about building a future together and having more children, and now she’s suddenly trying to organize childcare and day-to-day life largely on her own.”
“She didn’t expect to be in this position so soon after becoming a mom and feels she is being left all alone to sort out everything at home,” they said.
The insider noted that Davidson “loves his daughter and wants to co-parent,” but Hewitt has “been the one handling most of the practical realities lately.” As a result, her friends believe “she’s been left carrying the emotional and physical load while Pete disappears into work commitments.”
Hewitt has even turned to social media for help, sharing on her Instagram Story that she was looking to hire a nanny. “I’m currently trying to find an assistant / mother’s helper / nanny type / basically right hand person,” she wrote on May 16. “Apply here if qualified and serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ of course).”
On Monday, May 18, a source close to Davidson denied Hewitt’s claims, telling Us Weekly that the comedian is “fully financially supporting the child and Elsie.”
“He’s very present in the baby’s life,” the source added. “He wants nothing but the best for Elsie and he shoulders all of the financial costs, including the costs for Elsie, her rent and her health insurance. Elsie’s posts caught everyone around them off guard because they are simply not true.”
At the time of writing, Davidson and Hewitt are working hard to figure out their co-parenting dynamic. “Despite everything that’s happened romantically, they are both committed to being present for their daughter,” one source told RadarOnline. “They’ve each been rearranging professional commitments and personal schedules to make sure the baby remains the priority while they work through co-parenting.”
“They genuinely did try to hold the relationship together, but the reality of becoming first-time parents so quickly put enormous pressure on both of them,” the insider continued. “They were still learning each other as a couple while also suddenly adjusting to sleepless nights, work demands, and the responsibilities that come with raising a newborn.”
