Keith Urban Reportedly ‘Hurt’ After Daughter Unfollows Him as He Allegedly Blames Nicole Kidman for ‘Making Things Worse’
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban‘s eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, has made it clear where she stands when it comes to her relationship with her father.
Sky News Australia previously reported that the teenager unfollowed Urban on Instagram, a move that reportedly came as a shock to the singer. She has since followed him again, but Rob Shuter reported on his Naughty But Nice Substack that Urban was deeply “hurt” by the situation.
“He knows this wasn’t just about Instagram. It was personal,” a source said.
Insiders claimed that Sunday Rose “knew exactly what she was doing” when she unfollowed the four-time Grammy winner, adding, “It was a pointed move, and Keith got the message loud and clear.”
Still, sources revealed that Kidman, who was married to Urban from 2006 to 2025, quickly got involved and urged their daughter to smooth things over before the social media snub escalated into a bigger family rift.
“Nicole was the one who told her to take the high road and cut it out,” a insider explained. “She understood why Sunday was upset, but she also knew making it public would only make things worse.”
Another source noted, “The girls have a lot of love for their dad, but there is hurt too. Sunday has been especially vocal about it.”
In a March 2026 interview with Elle Australia, Sunday Rose spoke warmly about her Oscar-winning mother but made no mention of Urban. “My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,” she told the outlet. “She’s a key part of everything I do.”
Sunday Rose’s interview left Urban feeling “numb” and “like he doesn’t exist,” a source told New Idea.
This comes after a source told RadarOnline in March that Urban’s “desperate” to win back his daughters. “Keith’s tour has kept him apart from the girls a lot more than he would like. As it is, he had to concede the majority of custody time to Nicole,” the insider said. “According to their divorce agreement, he only has Sunday Rose and Faith every other weekend, but when he’s touring, even that doesn’t work.”
The source added, “They’re used to long stretches away from Keith, who’s always been a working musician, but it’s tough. Keith is anxious to line up this trip with a break in the girls’ school schedule, so they can spend proper, relaxed time together.”
