After a string of recent comedic TV roles, including a guest spot on her husband Adam Brody’s hit rom-com series Nobody Wants This, Leighton Meester keeps finding her stride on screen. Season 3, however, will move forward without her.
“I know that I’m not in Season 3 of Nobody Wants This,” Meester exclusively tells StyleCaster while promoting her partnership with Godiva. “They’re filming right now. I’m really looking forward to that season. Everything that I know, which is a lot, is… so much happens. It’s so, so good. They have amazing guest stars coming in, and it’s just such a cool arc in the season for all the different characters.”
Meester appeared in Season 2 of the Netflix series, playing Abby Kaplan, Joanne’s (Kristen Bell) middle school friend-turned-foe, who is now a mommy influencer with a carefully curated online presence.
Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster credited co-showrunner Jenni Konner for bringing the Gossip Girl alum onto the show. In an October 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Foster added that Meester came on board after Abby had already been written, but once she was cast, the writers revised the script to add a cheeky moment between Abby and Brody’s “Hot Rabbi” character Noah.
Beyond her brief appearance on Nobody Wants This, Meester has also been focusing on other new projects, including another collaboration with Godiva to mark a major milestone for the chocolatier.

Meester tells StyleCaster that the partnership is “really wonderful” and “makes total sense” to her, saying, “I’m a huge fan and I’ve loved working with them.” She also jokes that the collaboration comes with a “huge perk” at home with her two children, whom she shares with Brody, adding that they even think she works for Godiva.
“If you ask them what my job was, that’s it, and I’m like, ‘That’s actually a pretty cool job,'” she quips.
The actress also says she can “appreciate Godiva’s long-standing tradition of quality, style, flavor and craftsmanship,” admitting that it has helped her value traditions more deeply, especially as a mom and wife.
“I think it’s the best,” she continues. “I think it’s about enjoying it together in that sense, and connecting with something that you love with someone that you love.
The campaign also sees Meester narrating a 2D animated film that unfolds through a series of “emotive, era-spanning” vignettes celebrating key moments in Godiva’s history. For the project, she reprises her role as Lady Godiva.
To mark its 100th year in business, Godiva has also launched a limited-edition Centennial Collection, featuring an assortment of 10 chocolate icons inspired by its legacy.
As for what’s next on her packed schedule, Meester is starring in the Netflix holiday rom-com Guarding Stars alongside Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. She describes the upcoming movie to StyleCaster as a romantic comedy with “a lot of action.”
“That’s a really fun element of the film,” she says. “It’s obviously heartwarming and was super fun in terms of the comedy piece, but I was really looking forward to running from explosions and chasing down a bad guy. That was what was really exciting to me.”
That said, Meester teases that the film has “a little bit of everything,” adding, “When people have asked me [about the movie], they’re like, ‘Well, what is it exactly? What is the movie?’ And I’m like, ‘It’s a Netflix holiday romantic action cowboy comedy.'”
Meester also sums up the film’s cozy tone, saying it’s “definitely a movie that you could roast some marshmallows and have a very elevated Godiva s’more with.” Count us in!
