Brad Pitt doesn’t really have a good relationship with his kids at this point. It’s to be expected considering his divorce from Angelina Jolie came with allegations of assault, not just on her but the kids. And the kids have made their position on Pitt pretty clear, as most of them don’t even use his last name anymore. What does that mean for Pitt’s relationship with girlfriend Ines de Ramon?
Reportedly, de Ramon, who recently stepped out with Pitt at the Mercedes-AMG World Premiere, has yet to meet Pitt’s kids. “Ines has never met the children,” one insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “That alone tells you how strained and complicated things still are behind the scenes.”

Pitt and de Ramon started dating in 2022 and have become serious, but it seems like, despite reports that she’s been a good influence on Pitt, there’s nothing to be done on her part to heal the family rupture. There’s just no going back for Pitt and his kids.
Daughter Zahara recently publicly dropped “Pitt” from her name during her Spelman College graduation ceremony, the latest of Pitt’s kids to publicly drop his last name. Pitt was not present at the graduation, though Jolie and Zahara’s siblings were.
“Brad has tried to protect the relationship from all the family heartbreak,” the source told Shuter. “But the wounds with the kids are still incredibly deep.”
Most of Pitt’s kids have stopped using the Pitt surname in the past few years. He shares 6 kids with ex-wife Jolie: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
And it doesn’t seem like any of them has a relationship with Pitt. Maddox, Pitt’s eldest child, removed Pitt from his last name in the credits of his mom’s new movie, Couture, on which he served as an assistant director. Two years ago, in a Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders, which Vivienne helped Angelina produce, the twin was credited as Vivienne Jolie, instead of Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
Zahara had previously introduced herself without using Pitt, but she made it even more obvious when she recently dropped Pitt from her last name during her graduation. Two years ago, Shiloh, who was born as Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie after she turned 18.
“It breaks his heart,” another insider said. “He loves his children deeply, but there’s still enormous pain and unresolved anger throughout the family.”
So basically, at this point, only two of Pitt’s kids reportedly still use his name, and they are the two that have been in the public eye the least, so it’s hard to know if that’s a decision or if we just haven’t heard of any change.
“He’s aware that Shiloh dropped his last name,” a source told People two years ago about Brad’s feelings toward Shiloh’s legal name change. “The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them.”
It seems like his children don’t really miss him.
