Things between Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt have gotten pretty ugly since their May 2026 breakup.

Not only has Hewitt accused Davidson of being a deadbeat dad to their daughter, Scottie Rose, but she’s also reportedly preparing to take him to court over custody and child support.

“He may want to keep things quiet, but [Elsie] has no problem blowing things up and bringing this to court,” one source told the U.S. Sun.

This follows Hewitt’s earlier claims that the comedian hasn’t been helping with co-parenting duties and that she’s been left to handle the financial side of raising Scottie on her own. “I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it on my own, which is hard,” she said in a May 16 TikTok video.

She also allegedly liked a comment from a TikTok user that read, “Sorry but not staying with your partner when they are [post partum] is insanely loser behavior. This is THE most vulnerable time in a woman’s life.”

A source close to Davidson has since denied Hewitt’s allegations, telling Us Weekly that the Saturday Night Live alum is “fully financially supporting the child and Elsie.”

“He’s very present in the baby’s life,” they added. “He wants nothing but the best for Elsie and he shoulders all of the financial costs … Elsie’s posts caught everyone around them off guard because they are simply not true.”

Another insider close to him told the U.S. Sun that there’s no reason for Hewitt to threaten court. “She’s gonna file something based on what? He’s already paying her more than he has to,” they said. “He is already covering all of the costs relating to Scottie, and also paying for Elsie’s health insurance and her apartment.”

They added that Davidson has “gone above and beyond what is required” because he truly wants Hewitt to “feel properly supported” during this time.

“He has also helped her secure hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional opportunities,” the insider noted, clearly referring to Davidson and Hewitt’s joint collaborations with Sonic and Bumble.

Shortly after news of Davidson and Hewitt’s split got out, sources told industry insider Rob Shuter that it was Davidson’s decision to call it quits. Hewitt reportedly fought hard to work things out, but Davidson ultimately “decided he was done.”

One source said having a baby was extremely hard on the pair, especially since they hadn’t been together long before Hewitt got pregnant. “They confused intense chemistry with long-term compatibility,” the source told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “They thought having a baby would be exciting and bring them closer together. The reality was the complete opposite.”

“The real problem is Pete is a deeply unhappy person,” they continued. “He needs to learn how to love himself before he can fully love someone else. It’s heartbreaking because now a child is involved, but honestly, this relationship never really had a chance from the beginning.”
