As her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce approaches, Taylor Swift is reportedly taking extra steps to keep their special day private—even if that means keeping her future father-in-law at a distance.
Sources are telling the Daily Mail that Swift is withholding details about the “really, really, big” wedding from Ed Kelce because he “can’t be trusted” to keep a secret.
“He’s sort of like a loose cannon,” one source told the outlet. “Nobody knows what he’s going to say, so it’s kind of a controversial situation.”
The insider added that Ed “already gave out a lot of information about the engagement,” including when, where, and how his Super Bowl-winning son popped the question to the beloved pop star.

In late August 2025, Ed spoke with News 5 Cleveland and said the romantic proposal took place earlier that month at Kelce’s home in Missouri. Ed noted that Kelce initially wanted to hold off on proposing until the time felt right, but Swift was allegedly getting “antsy.”
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed said. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Despite this, Ed isn’t the only one being kept in the dark when it comes to Swift and Kelce’s nuptials. Kylie and Donna Kelce, as well as several of the couple’s friends, are also out of the loop, as Swift is allegedly tightly managing the planning to prevent any further leaks. In fact, Swift ditched physical invites and has been “personally calling guests” instead.
“When it comes to the date and location, she wants to avoid anything leaking ahead of time, which is why there are no physical save-the-dates being sent out,” another source explained. “She’s also sharing slightly different details with different guests. That way, if any information does surface publicly, it could help identify where the leak came from.”
Speaking of guests, a third source has learned that “every person under the sun who has slim to no relationship with the couple is being invited.” Swift’s ex-best friend, Blake Lively, is likely not welcome, though, since the actress “dragged” the 14-time Grammy winner into her messy legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
“[The main issue was] the fact that her private text messages to her friend became public record and her friend dragged her into something that made her look poorly to the public,” the insider claimed. “That’s what really bothered her. It was like, “OK, you f—ked up my reputation.” It’s the reputation that she cares about the most.”
