Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s upcoming wedding is already generating major public attention, with many fans expecting it to be one of the most-talked about events of the year (possibly even the decade).

Details about their big day have allegedly leaked, but the information is pretty inconsistent. Some reports claim Swift’s Rhode Island mansion will serve as their venue, while others insist New York City will be the backdrop instead. Rob Shuter revealed in an April 21 report that no one, not even the guests, “know exactly where it will be.”

Regardless, what’s clear is that Swift and Kelce are hoping for something personal, intimate, and relaxed despite the frenzy around them. Because of that, rumor has it the global pop sensation is planning a decoy wedding to draw attention away from the actual ceremony.

“Taylor is extremely aware of the risks that come with this level of fame and exposure, and there is a feeling that a single event simply cannot be protected in the way she would like,” a source close to the wedding planning told Ok! magazine. “The strategy being discussed is to hold one large, highly visible celebration with extensive security, which effectively acts as a decoy, while a second, much smaller ceremony takes place privately.”

The insider continued, “The idea is that by putting on a big, headline-grabbing day, it draws attention away from the real, more meaningful moment—she believes that will reduce the risk of stalkers or troublemakers attempting to track her movements on a second big day.”

That said, concerns around security have grown as the wedding plans take shape. Another source even said that Swift and Kelce’s teams “are intent on locking everything down because too much has already slipped out.”

“When you have this level of celebrity and this much detail circulating, it becomes a genuine security issue,” they added.
