Throughout its nearly 80-year history, the Met Gala has welcomed many high-profile couples as they made their way up the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s iconic steps.
Now, fans are speculating that one of the world’s most famous power couples, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, could make a joint appearance at fashion’s biggest night.
As of now, it’s unclear whether Swift is attending the 2026 Met Gala with her fiancé. The pop star and NFL player were reportedly invited to the 2025 event, but a source told TMZ that “they could not make it work as a result of their schedules.”
It seems unlikely that they will attend this year, especially since Swift hasn’t been since 2016, when she served as a co-chair and made headlines for her striking bleached-blonde bob.
Swift and Kelce both frequently have jam-packed schedules, and they’re also said to be in the midst of planning their wedding. Page Six revealed in an April 9 report that they’re set to say “I do” on Friday, July 3, in New York.
This has come as something of a surprise, since many assumed the “Opalite” singer and three-time Super Bowl champion were planning to get married in an intimate ceremony in Rhode Island. Swift owns the High Watch seaside mansion there, which right next door to the Ocean House hotel. But according to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, Swift allegedly changed their plans after certain information was leaked.
“The truth is, no one knows exactly where it will be yet,” a source told Shuter. “Not even the guests.”
The source explained that Swift and Kelce “want total control — and total privacy,” adding that “details won’t be shared until the very last minute.”
But back in November 2025, a source told Page Six that the venue was changed because the couple ultimately chose to go “all out” and tie the knot somewhere that could accommodate more guests.
Speaking of the guests, an insider told Us Weekly that Swift and Kelce had “gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private.” As of now, around 150 people have been invited, and several high-profile celebrities are rumored to attend the upcoming nuptials.
Among those likely to be in attendance are Kelce’s older brother Jason and his longtime Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, as well as Swift’s best friends Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, Zoë Kravitz, and the Haim sisters.
