NFL legend Tom Brady is seemingly embracing his modeling era. The seven-time Super Bowl champion made his runway debut during the Gucci Cruise 2027 collection fashion show, which took place in Times Square on Saturday, May 16.

Brady’s catwalk has since gone viral online, with clips of the retired quarterback strutting on the catwalk in an all-leather ensemble flooding social media. Since then, many people have weighed in on this surprising career choice, including his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

According to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, the supermodel found her ex-husband’s runway moment “both charming and entertaining.”

“Gisele thought it was fun to watch,” one insider told Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “She knows Tom has confidence and charisma, but runway modeling is an actual skill that takes years to master.”

While several social media users have mocked Brady for his stiff walk and the smirk on his face—some are even saying he looked like he walked straight out of Zoolander—Bündchen’s reaction was reportedly nonjudgmental.

“Her attitude was basically, ‘Good for him for trying,’” the source explained. “Most men would never have the confidence to walk a major runway in front of the entire fashion industry.”

Bündchen is even said to “respect” her ex-husband for taking a leap of faith and trying something entirely outside the world of professional football.

“Tom absolutely has the look for fashion,” another source said. “But if he wants modeling to become part of his next chapter, he’s definitely going to need more runway practice.”

Brady isn’t the first (and certainly won’t be the last) football player to bridge the gap between the gridiron and runway. A notable example unfolded at Paris Fashion Week 2024, when Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson walked in the Vogue World 2024 fashion show.

“I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and grow as a person, [and] I think walking in the show is a great way to do that,” Burrow told Vogue at the time. “I think the crossover between fashion and sport is going to continue to grow.”

The best friends and former college teammates have also attended the Met Gala a few times, as has Brady.
