Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Reportedly ‘Desperate’ to Flee US to Escape ‘Stress & Misery’ From Justin Baldoni Settlement
It appears Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have had enough of the United States, as reports claim the couple is ready to ditch Hollywood for a life overseas.
RadarOnline alleged in a May 14 report that the couple, frustrated by ongoing negative press and legal woes tied to Lively’s years-long court battle with It Ends With Us director and star Justin Baldoni—which has finally reached a settlement—is now reportedly thinking about fleeing the US.
“Blake and Ryan are desperate for a fresh start away from all the stress and misery that’s totally taken over their lives,” an insider told the outlet. “Even if they wind up doing it for a temporary period, they want to get away and clear their heads.”
Sources also claimed that allegations about Lively being a Hollywood “mean girl” and difficult to work with have further damaged their public images.
“Blake and Ryan own a home in Europe, which has become a perfect asylum from the endless noise,” another insider said. “They will almost certainly keep a base in the States, but at this point, it makes sense for them to relocate for a while, get away from all the sniping and work to rebuild their reputations. … Things can’t get much worse than they are right now.”
However, a source previously told the Daily Mail in April 2026 that Lively and Reynolds, who got married in 2012, aren’t so sure moving to the UK is a good idea—especially for their kids, James, Inez, Betty, and Olin.
“What’s making them take a long, hard look at their immediate future is that their kids’ schooling and friends are in the States,” the insider explained. “Blake truly is an amazing mother. If it wasn’t for their children, they may consider relocating to the UK or at least splitting their time more between there and the US.”
It does make sense, though, especially since Reynolds co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham AFC. “With Ryan’s huge success with Wrexham, he has a great affinity for the UK,” the source added. “Blake could rebrand there and believes there are top of the line filmmakers who could give her a second chance.”
