It seems Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his family are putting a significant amount of their wealth toward a good cause.
According to a press release, the Bezos family has donated a whopping $100 million to Robin Hood, a major anti-poverty nonprofit in New York, to set up the Jackie Bezos Endowment for Early Childhood. The late Jackie previously served on Robin Hood’s board of directors and chaired its early childhood committee.
The money is meant to support early education and child development programs, an area also championed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. On top of that, the Bezos’ have pledge another $25 million, dependent on a matching contribution, which could bring the total donation up to $150 million.
“My mother saw the innate potential in every child and never stopped working to ensure that potential was met. This gift honors her legacy and makes permanent the work she helped build at Robin Hood,” Mark Bezos, a Robin Hood board member and Jeff Bezos‘ half-brother, said in a statement.
He continued, “When Paul says the Robin Hood Endowment is a promise that this organization will be here fighting poverty long after any of us are gone, that is exactly what my mother would have wanted. My family is proud to anchor this campaign and to ensure that the youngest New Yorkers will always have Robin Hood in their corner.”
This comes after reports Jeff Bezos is looking to sell his $500 million superyacht, Koru. Sources claim the vessel is simply too large for the billionaire to manage, with operating costs estimated at around $30 million per year. It also comes with a $75 million support ship, Abeona, though it’s not clear whether that’s part of the potential sale.
A representative for Bezos, however, denied the rumors. “This is not true,” they told Page Six in May 2026.
