Fans of One Direction are feeling a little bittersweet again, and it all seems to stem from news surrounding Harry Styles’ wedding.

In late April 2026, news broke that Styles was engaged to Emmy-nominated actress Zoë Kravitz after less than a year of dating. While there’s been plenty of speculation about who will make the guest list, one thing seems certain: Niall Horan won’t be in attendance.

During a May 13 appearance on the New Zealand radio show The Edge Nights, co-hosts Ollie Miles and Lucy Maynard asked Horan if he had any “cool events” coming up that he was excited to attend—specifically a wedding, clearly alluding to Styles and Kravitz’s special day.

The “Black And White” singer did reveal that he’s attending “a couple of weddings” soon. “We all love a wedding. A couple of mates of mine are getting married, so that’s gonna be very fun,” he said.

Miles and Maynard pushed Horan on the timing of any of the nuptials and whether they involved “old people [he] used to work with,” clearly hinting at his former One Direction bandmate.

Horan caught on quickly and, with a laugh, said, “Oh, right, no, no, no. I get it now. No, just mates of mine.”

As Lucy pressed for further information, Horan revealed he won’t be attending Styles and Kravitz’s wedding. “I am not going, if that’s what you’re asking,” he revealed, adding that he’s “a busy man.”

This shocking revelation comes amid reports that Styles has a pretty strained relationship with his old bandmates, especially Louis Tomlinson.

As Tomlinson prepared to release his third album, How Did I Get Here?, on Jan. 23, 2026, Styles seemingly took the spotlight from him by returning from his years-long hiatus and dropping his hit single “Aperture” on the same day.

“They are not friends,” a source told The Daily Mail in January 2026. “Yes, they will forever be bonded by the band, and all that happened, but that is in the past.”

The insider continued, “’Harry has no loyalty to Louis as it stands, and it’s safe to say this whole song release has p—ed Louis off. The last thing he wanted was to compete with Harry on his big day. It feels like history repeating itself.”

Despite this, Tomlinson told Billboard that same month that he’s grown closer to the One Direction members following Liam Payne’s tragic death at age 31 on Oct. 16, 2024. “Naturally, there is a closeness,” he told the outlet. “It definitely feels closer than it was.”
