All hail Queen Bey. Beyoncé returned to the Met Gala on Monday, May 4, 2026, stepping on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s iconic steps for the first time in 10 years. She shut down the red carpet in an Olivier Rousteing design that recreated the human skeleton in diamonds. The gown’s sheer skeletal look extended into matching gloves, while a feathered cape and crystal-adorned crown completed the look.

During Vogue‘s livestream of the 2026 Met Gala, Beyoncé revealed she collaborated with Rousteing on her outfit because he’s “somebody who has been so loyal to me, and I’ve done so many iconic looks with him.”
She added that she was drawn to the theme, “Costume Art,” since it’s celebrated the human body. “Juicy, curvy, thin, [just] celebrating whatever god gave you,” she said.
The Met Gala sparked fresh speculation among the Beyhive that Beyoncé may be preparing to unveil Act III, the rumored final chapter of her album trilogy. One viral post on X claimed the album, which follows Renaissance (2022) and Cowboy Carter (2024), was finished and would be announced at the Met Gala, but the Grammy winner’s publicist shut down those claims, replying, “This is unequivocally false!!”

Despite no Act III news coming from the 2026 Met Gala, the Beyhive will be happy to know the annual gala turned into a family affair. Beyoncé was joined on the carpet by her husband, Jay-Z, and their eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The “Protector” vocalist said it felt “surreal” to have Blue Ivy there with her, adding that she was “excited to experience it through her eyes.”
