US President Donald Trump is always in the middle of some controversy, and he’s not the only one. There have been concerning reports about basically every member of the Trump family, including his youngest son, Barron. And now, biographer Michael Wolff is claiming that first lady Melania Trump could also become a political “liability” for the White House.
RadarOnline is reporting that Wolff, who has been a longtime critic of the President, is suggesting that Melania’s recent comments and her conspicuous absences could end up being “dangerous” for the president.

What’s the origin of this latest controversy? A Mother’s Day essay Melania Trump wrote for The Washington Post in which she described mothers as “the foundation” of American democracy and the “first teachers of empathy, aspiration, and discipline.”
So far, so good. But Melania also wrote that she challenges herself to “think beyond the traditional responsibilities of the East Wing.” This caused immediate backlash, particularly as the East Wing was recently demolished during ongoing renovation work. Oops.
In fact, one particular comment on the essay read: “The Washington Post was once a great newspaper and my reliable companion every morning. Now it’s… this.”
Wolff and his co-host, Joanna Coles, weren’t kind with the quality of the essay. “There are so many ghostwriters and speechwriters you could call to write something really moving and rousing,” Coles said. “And yet, they’ve chosen to go the lazy route.”
They also had questions about why the essay was even published. “When they’re handed this thing, why wouldn’t they say, no, obviously we can’t publish this,” Wolff said, suggesting that they may have believed the piece would “hang itself.”
Jeff Bezos, who has been seen cozying up to Trump in his second term, is the owner of The Washington Post.
Speaking on The Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Wolff said that the first lady has created headaches for the White House with her recent statements and appearances. “I mean, in the times that she has come out, that has not been good for them,” he said.
He brought up her press conference, trying to distance herself from Epstein, explaining that the whole thing only reignited public attention on Epstein’s ties to the many people in the administration. “The Epstein thing, drawing attention to that. Her just peculiar attitude about everything… her strategic absences,” Wolff continued. “This is not good for them, and it’s not necessarily controllable for them.”
Wolff also said that her motivations for speaking out now “could be dangerous for Donald Trump.”
Of course, Wolff isn’t exactly a favorite of the administration. The White House has previously been very harsh with Wolff and his reporting on the President and his family. In fact, Communications director Steven Cheung once referred to Wolff as a “lying sack of s—” who “has been proven to be a fraud.”
The problem now, of course, is that people continue to pay attention. And that means the questions won’t stop.
