“Some of the most classic pieces that people wear daily are simple pendants, stud earrings, smaller chain bracelets, and engagement/wedding rings,” says celebrity stylist Samantha Brown. “Many people wear a lot more than that (myself included!), but it depends on the person and their style.” 

Brown recommends solid gold or platinum pieces for everyday wear, since these are less likely to tarnish and can be exposed to moisture (whether you’re washing your hands, taking a shower, or jumping in the pool). However, she says gold-plated and more budget-friendly pieces can also work for everyday wear. “If a style is trendy, going for a lower-cost and lower-quality piece is fine, as the wearer doesn’t need longevity from it,” she remarks. “If you’re looking to invest, quality definitely matters.”
