Fergie Reportedly ‘Not Backing’ Down from Demand to Meet with Charles After Feeling ‘Spat Out Like Chopped Liver’
Sarah Ferguson continues to maintain a low profile, but reports suggest she’s still making requests and trying to find her way back into royal circles.
A source told Closer in late April 2026 that the former Duchess of York wants to meet with King Charles face-to-face in hopes that he will welcome her back with open arms.
“In her view, she deserves a sit down with Charles to clear the air and have her say,” the source said, adding that Fergie’s “not backing off from that.”
The source continued, “To be clear, what she’s craving most of all right now is a proper explanation, the chance to sit down with some of those senior royals and provide them with her true version of events. She really believes she’s earned that right, not just because she’s supposed to be family but for all the loyalty and support that she’s shown towards them during their various crises in the past.”
Fergie was stripped Duchess of York title in October 2025 and later evicted from the Royal Lodge due to her and her ex-husband Prince Andrew’s close ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and since then, she’s reportedly felt “completely abandoned” by Charles and the rest of the royal family.
“Sarah still can’t process the fact that nobody from the royal family wants anything to do with her,” a source told the outlet. “She never believed in a million years that they’d turn on her so brutally. Sarah feels like she’s been completely abandoned.”
The insider added that the “silent treatment” Fergie has been subjected to has been “so galling” and “deeply offensive” for her.
“To be spat out and essentially treated like chopped liver is so insulting and hurtful, which is why she’s pushing so hard for face time or at the very least a clear explanation. But in doing that she’s really upsetting people inside the Firm.”
As of this writing, Fergie is living in Austria and seemingly doesn’t have any plans to return to the U.K. anytime soon. So, it remains to be seen when—or even if— she’ll chat with Charles.’
