While interest in Barron Trump continues to rise, the youngest son of President Donald Trump has largely stayed out of the spotlight. His sister-in-law, Lara Trump, explained why on an April 2026 episode of her The Right View podcast, claiming that social media’s obsession with him is the reason for his notably low profile.
“I don’t know if he knows the internet is obsessed with him. I think he knows there’s a lot of interest, but that’s why he likes to lay low,” she said. “That’s why he plays it cool, that’s why you don’t see him all the time.”

Lara added that Barron’s lack of public presence is a smart move, saying, “I say this all the time, I feel like he’s a sleeper, like you want to hear more about Barron because you see less of him, and I think that’s kind of cool.”
“He knows what’s going on out there,” she continued. “He’s up on all of it.”
Barron is currently a sophomore at New York University’s (NYU) Washington D.C. campus. According to the school’s website, the D.C. campus is home to 60–100 students and allows them to “engage deeply with politics, policy, business, journalism, and leadership through coursework and experiential learning in the nation’s capital.”
President Trump revealed in an interview with Fox News‘ Laura Ingraham that Barron is also living at the White House while he attends classes. While giving Ingraham a tour of home, he gushed about how “tremendous” Barron will be one day. She asked if Barron was in the mansion, and Trump told her, “He’s here. He’s right upstairs.”
Although he is still pursuing his business degree, Barron is already making a name for himself with the beverage company, Sollos Yerba Mate Inc. Described by one of it’s co-founders via People as a “lifestyle beverage brand built around clean + functional ingredients,” it’s set to launch its first flavors in May 2026.
