Euphoria isn’t exactly a show that shies away from hard topics or nudity. And Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie has had plenty of storylines that have seen her show a fair bit of skin. But Cassie’s latest foray into a career as an OnlyFans model has resulted in some of the most explicit nudity so far in the show.
The second episode of Season 3, titled “America My Dream,” continues to delve into Cassie’s toxic relationship with her fiancé, Nate (Jacob Elordi). But it also focuses on a storyline introduced in the Season 3 premiere, Cassie pursuing a career on OnlyFans in order to save money for the wedding of her dreams.

We already saw the character posing in a puppy play costume, but in the second episode, Cassie takes things up a notch via a montage of sexy photoshoots. There’s Cassie licking a melting ice cream cone as the ice cream drips down her bare chest. There’s Cassie, completely naked and wearing a backwards baseball cap in what is probably supposed to be a catcher’s pose, with her hands between her legs in a V.
There’s also Cassie, fully drenched and wearing a sheer American flag. And, of course, Cassie dressed up in baby clothes in a scene fans were up in arms about since it was teased in the trailer for the episode.

One fan said “Euphoria was always provocative but it was never gross. This episode was GROSS”,” while another one asked “Can’t actors say no to some scenes? This show is written like someone’s sick fantasies come to life. I bet Sam just wants to see how far he can push the envelope. The show is disgusting and uncomfortable to watch.”

Sweeney, however, has always been clear about the fact that she has no problem with the nudity. In an interview with W Magazine last year, Sweeney said: “I think that I have gained so much confidence and self-awareness through Cassie. I think that the female body is a very powerful thing,” and added, “I think that, for me, I’m telling my character’s story and so I owe it to them to tell it well, and do what needs to be done.”
The actress also told Empire: “I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. It’s so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is.”
Plus, she praised creator Levinson. “Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier‘. And he’s like, ‘I’m all in’. And this season is unhinged.”
The man behind Euphoria also defended this new storyline for Cassie, telling The Daily Beast, “What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion—the gag is to jump out, to break the wall.”
