While many fans are celebrating the recent engagement between Harry Styles and Zoë Kravitz, not everyone is caught up in the excitement. Among those taking a more pointed approach is Kravitz’s ex-fiancé, Channing Tatum.

On April 27, Tatum took to his Instagram Story to post a poem that spoke to him. The piece, shared on Instagram by poet John Roedel on April 23, reflects on the tension between the head and the heart, beginning, “My brain and heart divorced / a decade ago / about who was to blame about how big of a mess I have become / Eventually, they couldn’t be in the same room together.”

“Now my head and heart share custody of me,” the poem continued. “I stay with my brain / during the week / And my heart / gets me on weekends / They never speak to one another.”

It goes on to contrast their perspectives, noting that the “heart is always sad about something that happened yesterday,” while the head is “always worried about something that may happen tomorrow.”

Toward the end, the poem introduces the gut as a mediator who suggests the lungs as a place of rest.”‘If you are exhausted about / your heart’s obsession with / the fixed past and your mind’s focus / on the uncertain future / your lungs are the perfect place for you.'”

“There is only breath / and in that breath, you can rest while your / heart and head work / out their relationship,” Roedel wrote.

A source told Page Six that Tatum “was surprised when he heard the news, like anyone would be,” adding, “but he didn’t really think too much about it.”

“He hasn’t heard anything directly and they’re not in regular contact, but if Zoë is happy, he’s happy for her,” they said.

The insider claimed that the Magic Mike star has “really moved on” and “is in a great place” with his girlfriend, model Inka Williams.

Tatum and Kravitz met and started dating while working on her feature directorial debut Blink Twice in 2021. They got engaged in late 2023 but broke up the following year.

“The split is amicable. They realized they’re at different stages in life,” a source told People at the time.
