If there’s one person people expect to attend Taylor Swift’s wedding, it’s Jack Antonoff, who is one of the singer’s closest friends and collaborators, with the two having co-written numerous hits since her 2014 album 1989. But is Antonoff attending Swift’s wedding, or is the fact that he did not produce her most recent album, The Life of a Showgirl, proof they aren’t that close anymore?
Well, we can probably take the fact that Antonoff very awkwardly avoided a question about weddings as a good sign. Antonoff was in the middle of an awkward exchange while appearing on the Today show on Friday, May 22. The singer and producer was there alongside his band, Bleachers, who were performing for the show’s Summer Concert Series.

After the song “Dirty Wedding Dress,” Antonoff discussed how his wedding to Margaret Qualley was the inspiration for the track.
“Wedding season is upon us,” Today co-host Craig Melvin then said.
“Is it?” Antonoff replied before asking Melvin, “Are you married?”

Solid deflection. Or at least attempt. Melvin replied that he and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, have been married for 15 years, and he and Antonoff discussed being married for a bit. But Melvin kept on trying. “Are you going to any big weddings this summer?” he then asked.
“Uh, I hope. Yeah, I hope so, man,” was Antonoff’s response. But when Melvin tried to pry, Antonoff wasn’t having it. “Oh no, no, no, no.”
“Uh, yeah. I love being married, man,” Antonoff then tried to change the subject. “I’m happy you love being married too!”
Basically, it’s safe to assume this man knows something. And he’s not very good at keeping secrets. But he’s trying his best! And it’s probably a complicated moment to be around Swift, particularly after the Daily Mail reported that Swift is withholding details about the “really, really, big” wedding from her future father-in-law, Ed Kelce, of all people, because he “can’t be trusted” to keep a secret.
“He’s sort of like a loose cannon,” one source told the outlet. “Nobody knows what he’s going to say, so it’s kind of a controversial situation.”
Ed Kelce was the one who “already gave out a lot of information about the engagement,” including when, where, and how his son popped the question. He told News 5 Cleveland that the proposal happened at Kelce’s home in Missouri. “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed said. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
It’s not just Ed, though. Kylie and Donna Kelce, as well as several of the couple’s friends, are also out of the loop, as Swift is reportedly trying to prevent leaks.
“When it comes to the date and location, she wants to avoid anything leaking ahead of time, which is why there are no physical save-the-dates being sent out,” another source explained. “She’s also sharing slightly different details with different guests. That way, if any information does surface publicly, it could help identify where the leak came from.”
