William Addresses Rumors He’s Attending Taylor Swift’s Wedding After Report of Her ‘Private Letters’ to Kate During Her Cancer Battle
The speculation about Taylor Swift’s wedding has gotten to the point where people are throwing the wildest names out there as possible wedding guests. And well, to be fair, if someone can be expected to throw a wedding big enough to warrant royalty guests, it’s probably Taylor Swift. But is there any truth to the rumors Prince William will be attending Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce?
William himself addressed the speculation while appearing on the U.K. radio show Heart Breakfast on Friday, May 22. William requested they play Swift’s song “Opalite” for his Swiftie children, Princess Charlotte, who is 11 and Prince Louis, who is 8. This led one of the hosts to tell William, “We believe there is a big wedding happening this summer,” to which another one added, “Oh yes! Have you got an invite?”

William’s reply? “No comment. I’m hoping and I’m sure there might be an invitation around but we’ll see.”
Swift and Kelce are reportedly getting married soon, with most people expecting the big day to be before training camp starts for the Chiefs in late July. No details of the day have been shared by the couple online. They announced their engagement last August, with a joint Instagram post.
Prince William attended Swift’s Eras Tour in June 2024 with Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who is 12. While on the radio show, he was asked what song to play and he responded, “How about some Taylor Swift?”
“Charlotte, my daughter, and Louis, to be fair, Charlotte, particularly, is obsessed by Taylor Swift. We went to see her on her Eras Tour and it was amazing,” he added. The trio watched Swift from a box at London’s Wembley Arena in June 2024.
“We were watching from up there, which is quite a long way from where the actual action is happening but the atmosphere was so incredible, you could actually feel the floors shaking when they were all dancing, it was brilliant,” William said.
This comes after a source told Fox News Digital last year that Swift wanted to invite Prince William and Kate Middleton to her wedding. “Taylor Swift is one very canny operator — developing her fan base, working incredibly hard writing some of the most popular pop tunes of the last decade, and cementing a good friendship with the future king Prince William over 10 years ago — a relationship that has culminated in private letters, inspirational cards and good wishes to Princess Catherine during her difficult year,” the insider said.
“Now, Taylor is planning the wedding of all weddings, but this is what makes her unique,” the source continued. “She wants to use the wedding not just to say as a celebration of love, but also to thank people who have made the journey to this point along the way and that will include all manner of people from all manner of backgrounds”
Will that truly include Prince William? We will probably find out sooner rather than later.
